My Poem

Hello and welcome back to my blog

Today I'm going to be talking to you about my poem. In our Writing workshops we have been writing poems. We had to watch a video about different types of poems, We got to choose out of a Limerick, Haiku, Using Comparisons in Poetry and Cinquain. I choose Using Comparisons in poetry. Here is my poem:

My legs start to tickle as a school of fish swim past
The waves push against me

The wind rushed past my face
I put my head under the water, hoping to see the school of fish swim past

I put my head under and I saw all these new fish i’ve never seen before, like I just opened a door to a new world

The fish swim past like there in a rush
Like there trying to get somewhere

I remember it being like yesterday
Being on the beach lying down on the sand

Swimming with the fish
Hanging with my family

Just having fun in the sun

We had to write a poem about our culture or a memory we have. We wrote this poem for our PBL. It had to add up to our question, How can I celebrate who I am.

Have you ever wrote a poem before.
Hope you enjoyed this blog
Bye!

  1. Hi Olivia, this is Petra. This poem is really interesting and I find that it really draws in the reader. I loved how you said that when you went underwater it was like opening a door to a new world. My answer to your question is that I have actually written lot's of poems before and I have even written one like this, like about swimming with the fish. Overall amazing job.
