I'm so excited for this year because this year I am a year 7 and it's my first year of intermediate and i'm a senior. For this week of school we did a placemat, For PBL this year our question is, What is greatness?

How it works for our placemat: We have to think of 4 great people and write down reasons why they are great. 3 people you picked from a list that the teachers wrote on a doc and we would pick 3 people and then we had to pick the 4th person ourselves. Here is my placemat...

Term 4 PBL

Hello and welcome back to my blog today I will be telling you about my team 4 PBL.

This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about design and the big question was; How can we use a Steam approach to make a marketable product?

First we learned what STEAM stood for.

S for Science

T for Technology

E for Engineering

A for the Arts

and M for Maths

Then we were given challenges. The first to make a chair using newspaper, string and straws that was able to hold a figure made out of multi-link blocks.

Then; make a table that was able to balance Mn Ms for the team. We were much better at the second challenge because it was a table not a chair and we used m and m and not multi- link blocks

In Literacy we learned to write up science experiments and to write a technology report using the design process of ask, imagine, plan, create, improve and share.

Our next step was to form teams and ask ourselves the big question again.

How can we use a Steam approach to make a marketable product? Our aim was to create enough products or experiences and sell it to raise money for charity.

My team made this Bath fizzes witch are basically bath salt

Reflection

My highlight from this PBL was making the market day product because we all worked as a team and competed it in time for the market day. Our team worked very hard for the market day and I think we make a good team

Next time I would Think it out for what to make because we first chose to make Bath bombs and lip scrub but then we ended up just make bath fizzes.

Fun 2018 Swimming lessons

Hi and welcome back to my blog. On this blog I'm Going to be talking to you about our swimming lessons for this year.
For the last two weeks we have been doing swimming at Graham Condon. For the first week we did free style, breath stroke and Back stroke. On the second week we did the same thing the first two days and then we did safety on the first day of safety we did life jackets and then we had to get on a boat here is a photo.

And then we did this rope thing were you had a buddy and then you had a rope and your buddy had to be in the water and then you thru the rope into the water and your buddy would catch it and then you pull them in here is a photo of it.

And on the last day we had to swim in our pyjamas but sadly I wasn't there on that day so I don't know what we did and there are no photos either.

My reading evidence

Hi and welcome back to my blog today I'm going to talk to you about my culture.

I was born In New Zealand but I do have a four other In my culture. In my family we don't really celebrate any of our culture in our house. This Is were I am from.

Our fun day

On Wednesday the 9th of May our hub had a very fun day. First we got to do some art. Here is what we made.

Then we went to clip and climb. Here is two photos 

 Then our last thing we did was Lego. It was so fun.
